Building chemicals industry heavily burdened by countless rules and regulations.

In strict compliance with hygiene and distancing rules, an intensive exchange of experiences on European and German construction product policies and their effects on manufacturers took place at the BORNIT® headquarters in November.
For this purpose, the member of the German Bundestag Mr. Dr. Jürgen Martens (FDP) and Mrs. Cornelia Kunze from the constituency office as well as the Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Bauchemie e.V., Mr. Norbert Schröter, were invited to the BORNIT® plant in Zwickau.

BORNIT® Managing Director Frank Metzner gave the visitors a comprehensive presentation of the enormous influence that political decisions in Brussels and Berlin have on the manufacturers of chemical construction products and the considerable effort that has to be made by the industry in order to offer construction products on the various sales markets in a legally secure manner.

The ever-increasing legal requirements and excessive regulations in recent years are increasingly leading to obstacles in market development and considerable additional costs for companies.

In addition to the regulations in European construction product law (EU-BauPVO), in some EU states (including Germany), products still have to meet extensive national requirements, which is not in line with the political objective of uniform rules on the European internal market.
Enormous administrative work has also been caused, for example, by the European "CLP Regulation", which came into force in January 2021, and as a result of which many products may only be offered, if they have been registered with the competent national authorities in the national language or with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) and are provided with a product-specific identifier, the "Unique Formula Identifier (UFI)".

AFrom the point of view of BORNIT® and many other producers, who are organised in the construction chemicals industry association, politics must also represent the interests of manufacturers more strongly in this area in the future, if no competitive disadvantages are to arise on the international markets.
